Recruitment of scientists

INRA is recruiting 32 scientists until March 1 2016

Each year INRA organises a recruitment campaign for scientists. Positions are open in various thematics. One position is available at GABI.

Subject: Genetic analysis and sustainability in cattle (CR2-2016-3-GA-1)

Key activities and required skills: Improving health and use of feed
resources is a major goal for the development of more agro-ecological, input
efficient production systems limiting waste and pollutants. Genomic
selection greatly facilitates the inclusion of such new traits in selection
objectives. If a trait can be measured in a reference population, it can be
selected, even in adverse conditions, in particular when the measure is
complex, expensive or weakly inheritable. The successful candidate will
develop research on the genetic architecture of traits related to the use of
food resources, then health, developing genetic epidemiology approaches.
He/she will have access to rich data sets in terms of phenotypes, genotypes
and genomic sequences and will join a team providing the necessary skills
and resources, with scientists with high international visibility. Skills in
quantitative and applied genetics, data analysis would be desirable. Good
knowledge of livestock production and selection would be a bonus.
