Paris International Agricultural Show

During the 2013 Paris international agriculture show, scientists from INRA exposed their work and innovative discoveries in food science, agriculture and environment. The Animal Health division hosted animations on pathogen agents, organised by scientists of the VIM unit, and on endocrine disruptors, both subjects attracting many visitors.

Zoonoses: understanding the role of viruses

The VIM unit presented in a fun way pathogen agents diversity involved in zoonoses, focusing more particularly on viruses causing Influenza and bronchiolitis.
Through educational animations, scientists illustrated the ability of pathogen agents -virus and bacteria- to infect multiple hosts, ranging from farm animals to humans.
They also introduced to a large audience the diversity of virus morphology and host defense mechanisms against pathogens including antibodies and cellular response.
