Influenza Virus

Influenza Virus

The "Flu" team was created in 2006. It is dedicated to the study of influenza A viruses at scales ranging from the viral protein to cellular and animal models of infection. The team studies the interactions between the virus, the host (in cell culture or in vivo), both mammalian and avian, and their implications in immunopathological mechanisms. Particular attention is paid to the study of species barrier determinants as well as to the virulence factors.

Our objectives are organized around major axes consisting in studying :

  • viral virulence factors,
  • the response of the mammalian and avian host to the infection,
  • the pathophysiology of the infection at the mucosal level
